Mahalik’s research and teaching look at the contributions of gender socialization and social influence variables as they affect both psychological and physical well-being.
A md´«Ã½¹ú²ú¾ç College professor since 1990, James Mahalik has also served as the Lynch School’s associate dean of faculty and academic affairs.
Mahalik has published theoretical work on men’s help-seeking as well as empirical work on gender and health behaviors. Moreover, he developed the widely used measures of gender role conformity, along with clinical best practice guidelines for working with boys and men.
In recognition of his distinguished achievements, Mahalik was honored as a fellow by the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science.
