FAQ's
Due to limited space, priority is offered to those who have not completed CCEM modules previously.听 Previous CCEM participants are welcome to join the newly developed modules for Fall 2024, which are the Accessibility & Disability Inclusion Module, and Religious Diversity Module. The expectation in participating is not to view CCEM as a passive 鈥渢raining鈥 (i.e., being provided a checklist of to-dos or not-to-dos, becoming a subject matter expert, determining a 鈥渞ight鈥 or 鈥渨rong鈥 approach), but as an opportunity to self-reflect, develop awareness and share cultural perspectives with others in a cooperative environment that promotes learning and engagement with the material.听
CCEM consists of a variety of guided activities (e.g., reflective journaling, self-inventories, videos, readings, presentations) led by module facilitators over the course of a two-hour session on a specific set of topics. Some activities and discussions will be unpacked in a smaller group dynamic (i.e., conversation partner), and others in a larger group setting. CCEM follows an action-planning format, in other words, applying the learning material to one鈥檚 own development goals and workplace environment here at md传媒国产剧 College. CCEM is not a training, and your participation is not going to be graded. 听
Attendance in all six modules is encouraged to gain the most comprehensive experience, but is not required.
At this time, all modules are offered only in-person. If you experience a conflict that results in not being able to participate in a module, please note that the same module will be offered the following semester, at which point you can register for. The expectation is by registering to attend a module, you are making a commitment to attend the full two-hours.
- If you are new to the CCEM program and have never taken the IDI before, yes, you are required to complete the IDI assessment and receive a confidential individual debrief before the first session you attend this semester.听
- If you participated in CCEM, or completed the IDI more than a year ago, you are required to take a re-assessment and receive a confidential individual debrief before the first session you attend this semester.听
- If you participated in CCEM or completed the IDI within the past year, then you don鈥檛 need to take the IDI again.
Registration must be completed at least one week before the date of the upcoming module.
There will be some preparation required before each session, such as reading an article or watching a video, as well as action items or discussions following each module. The estimated time commitment outside of each module is 30 to 45 minutes.
Departments interested in participating in CCEM, please contact Patricia Lowe for additional information.
