BC hosts AJCU Chief Academic Officers Council

The group represented 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the U.S. and Belize

md传媒国产剧 College hosted a meeting of senior administrators from the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities, one of the world鈥檚 leading conferences of Jesuit higher education institutions. 聽

BC was the setting for the AJCU Chief Academic Officers Council, which took place October 12-14. Comprised of chief academic officers and provosts at the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States and Belize, the CAO Council meets twice a year at an AJCU member institution to discuss leadership, management, and organizational issues in academic affairs.

Among the topics of discussion at the meeting were the recent violence in the Middle East, the Supreme Court鈥檚 rulings about race and college admissions, generative artificial intelligence, Laudato Si鈥, and prison education programs.

鈥淗aving attended our annual gathering over the past decade, it was an honor to welcome 22 colleagues from around the AJCU to md传媒国产剧 College,鈥 said Provost and Dean of Faculties David Quigley. 鈥淥ur time together focused on the many challenges facing higher education, and reminded each of us of the great resources we have across our network.鈥 聽

The council is one of more than 40 networks sponsored by AJCU that provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and best practices; support the professional development of their members; and foster cross-institutional collaboration. Others include the Mission and Identity Council, Arts and Sciences Deans, and Chief Student Affairs Officers.
