Scholarship Application Process
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship recognizes a md传媒国产剧 College junior who has demonstrated superior academic achievement, extracurricular leadership, community service, and involvement with the African American community and African American issues both on and off campus.
- The finalists will each be honored with a $1,000 gift certificate to the md传媒国产剧 College Bookstore.听
- The winner will receive a scholarship of up to $35,000 toward senior year tuition, and the other finalists will each receive a $3,000 tuition scholarship.
A selection committee composed of faculty members, staff, and administrators reviews all applications. Finalists are selected on the basis of two main criteria:
- Academic accomplishments as evidenced by strong grades, an ambitious selection of courses, and the integration of academic interests with personal goals; and
- Participation and leadership in activities, on campus or off, that serve others and help strengthen the African American community and promote its contributions to the larger American society.

To be considered, you must be:
- a full-time md传媒国产剧 College junior
- a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States
- in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
- active in community service to the African American and wider communities on and/or off campus
- involved with African American issues and the African American community
Selection Process

Selection of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship winner will be made by a Selection Committee consisting of staff, faculty, alumni, and students.

All applications must also include a signed Certification and Release statement in order to be considered.

Interview Round
Interview Round
The strongest of the preliminary applicants as determined by the committee will be invited for a committee interview. They will also be asked to submit a supplementary essay on the meaning of Martin Luther King's legacy in their own lives and two letters of recommendation: one from someone familiar with their extracurricular or service activities, and one from a dean or instructor commenting on their academic work. The finalists and this year's Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship winner will be selected from those interviewed.

Finalists will be notified in late January. The announcement of the winner will be made at the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Ceremony in February.
