Synergy on stage during the 2022 md传媒国产剧 College Arts Festival

Week of Dance at BC

From swing and step to modern and bachata, a celebration of dance on campus

Creative choreography and performance take center stage during md传媒国产剧 College鈥檚 annual Week of Dance, which began on Monday and runs through December 2.

Presented by the Robsham Theater Arts Center,听 a number of campus dance organizations are represented, performing in a variety of genres including swing, tap, contemporary, step, Irish dance, hip-hop, and modern, as well as bachata, cumbia, and other Latin dances.

The week began with workshops for BC students in the Bonn Studio Theater and will culminate with a two-night showcase on the Robsham main stage.

鈥淲eek of Dance provides dance groups a dedicated space to showcase what they've been working on throughout fall semester,鈥 said Isvarya Sylbert 鈥26, a member of Synergy Hip Hop Dance Company. 鈥淚t's the last opportunity that many groups have to perform their fall set, and always prompts an exciting and supportive environment.

Week of Dance workshops also allow exposure of the dance community to all BC students regardless of their level of experience, which helps to promote the event听 and is something dance groups and students alike appreciate, added Sylbert, who also is a dance representative from the Arts Council.

The Friday, December 1, performance will feature BC on Tap, BC Irish Dance, Dance Organization, Dance Ensemble, UPrising Dance Crew, Phaymus Dance Entertainment, Masti, VIP, Golden Eagles Dance Team, Fuego del Corazon, FISTS (Females Incorporating Sisterhood Through Step), AeroK, and Synergy Hip Hop Dance Company.

Taking the stage on Saturday, December 2, will be: BC on Tap, Sexual Chocolate, BC Irish Dance, Dance Organization, Capital Dance Ministry, UPrising Dance Crew, Dance Ensemble, Phaymus Dance Entertainment, Golden Eagles Dance Team , Fuego del Corazon, and Full Swing.

Week of Dance, organizers noted, is made possible through the work of Robsham Theater Arts Center student employees, who act as stage managers, light designers, house managers, ushers, and box office representatives.
