Matthew Monnig, S.J.

Profile

Matthew S. Monnig, S.J., recently completed his doctoral dissertation at Duke University on the Satan in Luke and Acts of the Apostles, considering how Satan reveals Luke's apocalyptic worldview and his notions of human and divine agency. Prior to Duke, he studied at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome with a semester at the 脡cole Biblique et Arch茅ologique in Jerusalem. He did his undergraduate studies at md传媒国产剧 College, where he was in the Presidential Scholars Program. He was awareded a Fulbright Scholarship to Poland, where he studied Karol Wojtyla (John Paul II) and the Solidarity labor movement. A member of the USA Northeast Province of the Jesuits, during his formation he taught math and scripture at md传媒国产剧 College High School and worked in San Quentin State Prison in California.
