Ashley Herkins

Assistant Professor of the Practice

Biography

Ashley Herkins is an Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Department of Engineering. She earned her B.S. in Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2020, and in the spring of 2024, she completed her Ph.D. in the same department. Her graduate research focused on developing and testing sustainable, allergen-free natural latex medical products. In the classroom, Prof. Herkins is a strong advocate for her students’ mental health and dedicated to preparing them to become lifelong learners. She is excited to foster an engaging learning environment that empowers students to thrive both academically and personally.
